Jerzy Kuryłowicz

Jerzy Kuryłowicz est un linguiste polonais né à Stanisławów le et mort à Cracovie le . Il était spécialiste des langues indo-européennes et des langues sémitiques. Il est devenu célèbre par sa mise en évidence, en 1927[1], des laryngales en hittite dans les mots où les prévoyait l'intuition de Saussure sur l'apophonie indo-européenne.

Il a été élu membre de l'Académie des Lyncéens en 1970[2].

Il a reçu le titre de docteur honoris causa de l'Université Jagellon de Cracovie en 1973[3].

Il est connu pour ses travaux sur l'apophonie et l'analogie.
